These are the wonderful people that along with all our members make Nomad what it is, whether they are our staff, instructors, route setters or athletes we love them and we know you will too.
Part of our team, Emma Horan, Thomas Farrell and Josh Mennell are currently gearing up for the World Cup circuit.
Emma has been a member of the Australian Boulder Team for the past 3 years representing the country all over the world, recently placing 21st in Navi Mumbai Boulder World Cup. In lead she is currently ranked 3rd in Oceania for 2017. Emma is also a State Level Head Route Setter in Bouldering.

FABRICIO 'FAB' MATTIOLI
Fabricio the stern Argentinian and second in charge, has been in Australia for a little over a year now, but climbing for over 10 years back in Argentina.
This goofball has a degree in Civil Engineering which he puts to great use running events, coaching, setting boulders and general administration keeping Nomad running smoothly.
Aurel is not only our head route setter, Aurel is a top level boulderer and route climber in Australia. Aurel over his 5 years in Australia has sent almost every Sydney test piece they can put up and since the birth of his gorgeous baby girl has turned his eye's to his remaining projects in the Blue Mountains.
Aurel has been setting for a decade through both France and Australia. He brings a fun, dynamic style that still draws on Aurel's old school, outdoor style to his setting at Nomad. Aurel was recently accredited as a State Level Qualified Route Setter.
Tom is one of the countries most successful climbers both on rock and plastic. Tom has a double digit ticklist longer then most people's regular tick list. He is regularly seen in Boulder World Cup Semi Finals and is the 2016 Australian Boulder Champion.
Tom has been climbing for 17 years, brought up in the small town of Camden outside of Sydney he spent his weekends either travelling to Sydney to train or developing boulders in and around Sydney.
Amy is one of the countries top outdoor female boulders, much like her partner (Tom Farrell) her ticklist of double digits is equally impressive. Amy is originally a Canberra girl where she first started climbing over 15 years ago, when she was 19 she moved up to Sydney to study and continue her goals of crushing rock and plastic at an elite level.
Ben is one of the youngest athletes on the Australian Open Bouldering Team. Ben is the Junior Male Australian National Champion for 2017. He has recently returned from a 5 month trip to Germany where he did us proud in Boulder World Cups in Europe and gained a huge amount of experience and skill training in their facilities that he has brought back to his training at home and setting at Nomad.
Yvette moved over the Sydney from Perth at the start of the year to finish her PHD at Sydney University. In her short time in Sydney Yvette has gone from strength to strength making finals at NSW State Titles this year and representing NSW at the Australian Bouldering Nationals held at Nomad in November. Keep your eyes peeled on this one, we think she has big things in the next few years...
Gabby has been working at Nomad since we first opened back in Feb. She is a great advocate for bouldering as a sport for women to get strong, confident and happy. Gabby represents Nomad at comps around Sydney, she is easily recognised when climbing by her gorgeous, smooth and delicate climbing style.
Disregarding his bewildered appearance, this guy is on it! Leo is our Beginner Course Instructor and resident bringer of good vibes. He also makes a mean cup of coffee...
Our youngest, everyone's favourite rapscallion. You can only love an 11 year old that runs around flashing everyone's projects.
Nanki is one of the countries top juniors, having represented this country multiple times and taking the title of 2017 National Lead Champion.
This year Nanki suffered a terrible setback in her climbing, tearing both her ACL and MCL and rupture here meniscus, however this hasn't stopped her training, she has been putting in the yards in the gym and is much stronger then before. She is ready to represent the country and Nomad once more all healed up.
Nikki is our amazing Yoga instructor, she teaches our regulars every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Nikki is an avid boulderer and loves creating challenging classes for our members that compliment their bouldering and fitness goals.
Josh has recently qualified on the Australian Youth Climbing Team, this means you will be seeing him on the world stage over in Moscow later in the year representing Australia and Nomad!
